XR+AI Club Visits Xverse: Traveling to the Tang Dynasty in a LBE VR Space
16 Oct 2025
In today's rapidly developing field of VR technology, how can university students directly engage with the industry's cutting edge? Recently, our university's XR+AI Club organized a visit for students to XVerse, a leading domestic company in AI and 3D technology. During the visit, company representatives explained the business logic and R&D direction behind LBE VR projects. The students also visited Shenzhen's new cultural landmark, the "Bay Area Eye," to personally experience the immersive project “Beyond the Fresco: A Journey to the Tang Dynasty”, developed by XVERSE.

Company Visit: Unveiling the Technology and Business Logic of LBE VR Project
Although XVerse was founded in 2021, as a National High-Tech Enterprise, it has rapidly grown into an industry unicorn with a valuation exceeding US$1 billion, driven by its "AI + 3D" dual-pillar technological strategy.

At the beginning of the visit, XVerse business lead introduced the company's development history. Founder Yao Xing previously served as Tencent's Vice President and Head of the AI Lab, where his team created well-known products such as the Go AI "Jueyi" and the game AI "Juewu". The technical lead then detailed XVerse core technological advantages, particularly its proud "Client-Cloud Collaborative" 3D interactive technology solution. This solution ensures high-quality visuals while significantly reducing the performance demands on user devices, enabling real-time rendering of high-definition 3D content on mobile platforms.

In the field of large-scale VR, XVerse has established the industry-leading brand "VISION WALK - Gateway to Illusory Journeys," which has been deployed in over 150 experience stores across China and has established partnerships with numerous cultural landmarks including the Anhui Museum and the Yunnan Museum.

Immersive Experience: Traveling Through History in Beyond the Fresco: A Journey to the Tang Dynasty
Following the theoretical sessions, the students traveled to Shenzhen's Bay Area Eye, renowned as the "world's largest physical bookstore," to personally experience the large-scale VR project: Beyond the Fresco: A Journey to the Tang Dynasty, developed by XVerse.
This project is the result of collaboration between XVerse and the Shaanxi History Museum, integrating advanced technologies such as 12K ultra-high-definition sampling, AI-powered high-precision 3D reconstruction, and intelligent hand gesture interaction. It transforms static murals like "Polo Game," "Hunting Expedition," and "Foreign Envoys" into enterable, interactive dynamic scenes.

"As soon as I put on the VR headset, I instantly felt transported to the heyday of the Tang Dynasty," one student excitedly shared. "I could examine the details of the murals up close and even interact with virtual characters."
The project also involved historical scholars like Professor Yu Gengzhe from Shaanxi Normal University as consultants, adopting a dual-track approach of "historical research + digital reconstruction" to meticulously restore the social customs and architectural features of the prosperous Tang era.
Future Prospects: The Application Potential of LBE VR
Through this visit, the students not only gained an intuitive understanding of the latest advancements in large-scale VR technology but also developed a deeper appreciation for the limitless possibilities of integrating technology and culture.
As advocates for the era of XR spatial content, we will also provide more opportunities for learning, exchange, and collaboration to the students in our club.
